La selección corre a cargo del especialista Laurence Cane-Honeysett, responsable también de las notas interiores de la edición.

Este doble LP se centra en las grabaciones publicadas por Beverley’s Records entre 1967 y 1968, un periodo fundamental para la música jamaicana en el que el rocksteady se consolidó como sonido dominante de la isla, sirviendo de puente entre el ska y el posterior desarrollo del reggae.
